Ruislip Area Guide
Ruislip is a town centered on an old village in the London Borough of Hillingdon. Located approximately 14 miles from London, Ruislip is comprised of six different areas which include Ruislip town, North Ruislip, South Ruislip, West Ruislip, Ruislip Manor and Ruislip Gardens.
There are excellent transport facilities which include several tube stations operating on the Metropolitan and Central Line as well as a main line train service into London. The A40 is the closest main road leading into London and out towards the M25.
Ruislip is a metropolitan area with a variety of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes. Banks, building societies all make up the Ruislip location.
The Ruislip area is well served for schools. The three top rated schools close to Ruislip are St Helen’s School, Northwood School for Girls and Nower Hill High School.
North of Ruislip, Ruislip Lido is a popular attraction nearby with a reservoir and an artificial beach situated beside Ruislip Woods.
Ruislip Lido Railway operates within the lido and is the longest 12 inch gauge miniature railway in Britain which surrounds two thirds of the lido. The railway was opened in 1945. In addition, the Water’s Edge restaurant and family pub overlooks the water.
